Section 2329903.82.02 states an additional 50% for covered articles, with exceptions. Note 16(c)(iii) includes the steel headings used here. Full customs value is the stated basis; do not apply older metal-content-only guidance to raw sheet or coil. Read the origin-specific context

Raw steel is not the same as machinery.

The 50% additional Section 232 provision for covered steel articles is the starting reference here, subject to the applicable exceptions. The 15% treatment described for listed derivative equipment does not make Korean, Japanese or EU coil or sheet automatically subject to 15%. FTA eligibility alone does not remove Section 232.

USITC · 2026 Revision 22, Chapter 99, note 16 · CBP · June 5, 2026 implementation guidance

UK product origin and melt-and-pour conditions both matter.

9903.82.04 states an additional 25% for covered UK articles meeting note 16(d), including the 95% UK steel melt-and-pour condition. CBP also records a specific, temporary Tata Steel UK / Netherlands melt-and-pour treatment through the end of 2027. Shipping from the UK is not enough to establish eligibility.

Find the order that covers the product.

Useful Commerce search terms differ by material: hot-rolled steel flat products, cold-rolled steel flat products, corrosion-resistant steel products, stainless steel sheet and strip, and the actual pipe, plate or long-product description. These are search terms, not findings that an order applies to every origin or producer.

Commerce · AD/CVD product, country and case search · Commerce · Scope rulings and classification rulings

Origin, the steel’s country of melt and pour, and the exporting country are separate facts. CBP requires melt-and-pour reporting for subject steel; connect that record to the identified material rather than assuming the invoice address supplies it.

Classification sources and boundaries

For nonalloy flat products, width ≥600 mm versus <600 mm changes the heading. Alloy chemistry can move the product outside the nonalloy paths shown. STS is not zinc-coated carbon steel; electrical steel has its own alloy and magnetic distinctions.

The older CBP coated-steel guide explains the electrolytic / hot-dip / galvannealed distinction. It is used for classification background only; current rates come from Revision 22.
